Description

Austal Ltd. engages in the design and construction of customized aluminum commercial and defense vessels. It also operates through the following segments: USA Shipbuilding, USA Support, Australasia Shipbuilding, and Australasia Support. The USA Shipbuilding segment manufactures defense vessels for the US Navy and Coast Guard. The USA Support segment provides on-going support and maintenance of Austal and non-Austal vessels. The Australasia Shipbuilding segment includes Austal’s Australia, Philippines, and Vietnam shipbuilding operations. The Australasia Support segment refers to the Austal’s Australia, Oman, and Trinidad and Tobago operations. The company was founded by John Rothwell in 1988 and is headquartered in Henderson, Australia.
