EFU General Insurance Ltd. engages in the provision of insurance services to commercial and individual clients. It operates through the following segments: Fire and Property Damage; Marine, Aviation, and Transport; Motor; and Miscellaneous. The Fire and Property Damage segment compensates the customers for damage suffered to their property. The Marine, Aviation, and Transport segment provides coverage against loss and damage to goods in transit by any means of conveyance, physical loss or damage to aircraft, ships, and liabilities to third parties and passengers arising from their use. The Motor segment covers physical loss or damage to the vehicle and liabilities to third parties as provided under the requirements of the Motor Vehicle Ordinance, 1965. The Miscellaneous segment covers contracts like cash in hand, cash in transit, personal accident, infidelity, public liabilities, health, crop, livestock, travel, bankers and other financial institutions packages, product liabilities, professional indemnity, and workers compensation. The company was founded by Ghulam Mohammad on September 2, 1932 and is headquartered in Karachi, Pakistan.
